Food Packaging Pilot Funding Program for PEI Companies

The Food Island Partnership is the coordinator for this program. One of the key mandates of this industry led group is to support the growth of food companies in the province. The funding partners for the project are the PEI Department of Agriculture & Fisheries, Agriculture & AgriFood Canada, and NRC IRAP.

Deadline to apply is Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Applications received by December 1, will be evaluated by a review committee based on their fit with the program and availability of funds. If all funds are not allocated after the initial intake, a second call for applications may be announced.

Financial contribution: Each approved company will receive funding of 80% of the project cost to a maximum of $15,000 project (i.e., 80% of $15,000 = $12,000 contribution). NRC-IRAP Contribution Agreement with BIO|FOOD|TECH
The Contribution Agreement with NRC-IRAP has two purposes. The first purpose is to provide funding for the development, adaptation or adoption of technologies to organizations with the common goal of stimulation of wealth creation through technical innovation. The second purpose is to encourage such goals with program funding which can be more easily or quickly arranged than regular IRAP program funding. The result is small scale funding opportunities with organizations capable of directly providing diagnostic, investigative or testing activities directly to small and medium enterprises. This Contribution Agreement is one of several in technology centres throughout the region. Please contact our BIO|FOOD|TECH project leaders for information on how BIO|FOOD|TECH clients may access Contribution Agreement funding for their projects.
